the tales of tiggy and tobiasShanthi Thiruppathi is the author and illustrator of The Tales of Tiggy & Tobias book series and The Doll Cat book series. She draws her inspiration from the real-life stars of the books, her cats. The Tales of Tiggy & Tobias is a children’s book series about brother cats who live by the sea. As the two seacats embark on exciting adventures, they meet intriguing sea creatures and learn about ocean life. The first book of the series, The Tales of Tiggy & Tobias; Brotherly Love, establishes the characters and the love shared between brothers. This collection of books consists of nine volumes.  Each book highlights a renowned set of moral values from the Fruit of the Holy Spirit; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

THE CHARACTERS

Tiggy and Tobias are brother tabby cats who live in Carolina Beach, NC. In 2007, Shanthi’s family adopted them from the local vets office. Although brothers, they are opposite in appearance and personality. Shanthi observed a special bond between the contrasting cats and realized the two brothers would make an interesting pair of storybook characters. She proceeded to write a collection of tales about the seacats on beach adventures. A portion of proceeds from book sales will go towards funding a cat rescue center that will aid in adoptions and provide shelter for cats without homes. catplaying
